Academics
Bethany offers more than 30 majors for students to choose from. The college has a well-laid-out plan to assist students from the time they enter the campus until their graduation day. In the first year, through special seminars consisting of discussions on politics, board game designs, comedy writing, among other things, the college builds students’ critical thinking and writing skills. Student Life
Student life in Bethany encourages students to explore more than 30 different organized activities right on campus, to showcase their real selves, to follow their passion, to relax, and to contribute to help the community.
The Student Activities Council (SAC) is the largest student-run programming group on the Bethany College campus, giving students the opportunity to participate in a real-world experience working with artists. SAC brings a variety of programs to campus each semester.
The Student Government Association is the guiding body for student life at Bethany College. The SGA consists of three branches: an executive branch, a judicial branch, and a legislative branch. The student body is given representation in the SGA meeting through their housing units depending on the number of members in each unit. The SGA President meets with the Dean of Students every week to discuss concerns students may have and how those can be addressed.
Athletics. Bethany is a part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association-NCAA Division III colleges. Since the student population is small, student-athletes on D3 campuses have more of a chance to shine. Here, participation in a variety of sports and other activities is not only allowed but rather encouraged. There is a thriving athletics program featuring over a dozen sports (and counting!) competing in the exciting regional Presidents’ Athletic Conference. This makes Bethany an ideal college where students can balance athletics and academics and prepare for a career.
